Changes in District Registration

In the past if  you were registered as a District Member at Large (code 75) you have voting rights as member of the district committee.  All District Committee Members (code 79) were non voting members.  District Committee Members (79) are those that agree to do one thing on the district - one thing, one time.

Starting Jan 1, 2012 the code 79 will no longer be an option.  If you are on the district committee you will be coded 75 and be a voting member.  This is the only change, all other positions and codes remain the same and you can still be coded within the committee in a functional position.  Examples of this might be Popcorn Chair, Adv Chair, Membership Chair and so on.

This is just for your information.  You will not need to contact me to make the change to your record.  If your name is on the district roster I will make that change when I register you for 2112.

Please - do not send your district registration directly to the office.  Your DE has the non unit roster which is to be worked like a recharter.  All payments and changes should go through your DE who will deliver updated roster with required fees to me when it is complete.  When payment comes directly to me it just slows things down.  I cannot do anything with it w/out the districts approval.  They may have no idea payment is being held which sometimes results in your being crossed off.  This will be corrected but only as I get time to work the loose ends.

Registration Forms

Do you know that registration forms are available to you 24/7?  Go to www.scouting.orgExternal Link / select volunteer / then scoutsource / membership.  Scroll down and look for Registration on the left side of the screen.  Select Registration and then select the form you need.

Rechartering

Remember to hit submit when you have finished your recharter package, print it and get signatures.  Signed papers should be given to your Commissioner or DE with payment.  If the front page says you need an app for a new adult - please believe it and submit the app.  Just because the adult is in the system with an ID number does not mean no app needed.  The person was most likely a Scout Parent or TC adult last year which means they are in the system but I do not have an approved application on file and do not have all the required information on them.

Internet Advancement

If a different person will now be doing your Internet Advancement please send me an email asking me to reset IA for your unit.  Once I reset it the new person can go in as a first time user and set up their own information.  I do not assign passwords and cannot tell you what yours is but I can reset it if you lose it.

Training

Training was covered in Birds Words December 2011.  If you need training information you can still bring that article up and get answers.  Just plug in Birds Words Dec 2011 in the search  bar of the home page, top left side.
