Scout Surge 9/11
Our youth need to understand and remember what happened on September 11, 2001, when terrorists attacked our Country. This is a terrific opportunity for engagement that reaches youth in their world via the communication tools they use. During the 2010 National Jamboree, nearly 30,000 youth received information on Scout Surge 9/11. Their involvement in this effort is a wonderful way to harness the energy, camaraderie and patriotism of the life-changing Jamboree experience.
Leaders and volunteers are encouraged to visit www.scoutsurge911.org
where they will find details of the event. Also, on that site, are suggestions on how their youth can collectively connect as they creat their own ideas and social networks to commemorate and remember one of the most enduring human experiences in American history. There are activities out there for every branch of Scouting, from Cub Scouts to Explorers; there are no limits to who can be involved.
