I Don't Remember Polar Bears Looking Like This

Maybe this Eagle Scout better check his Scout Handbook to be more prepared. In the photo, David Patterson, Eagle Scout 1981 says "I don't remember polar bears being like this."  This photo, with the caption, was chosen as a winning entry in the Boy Scouts of America Today photo contest.  Dave is registered with Troop 570 in Caro, and also registered with the Tall Pine District as a committee member. He took the wining photo in Mt. Pleasant after a snowstorm in December, 2009.  After seeing the picture and setting the caption for it, he submitted it to the photo contest.

A representative of the Boy Scouts of America contacted Dave the week of July 20th, informing him that his photo would be one of 100 included in the soon to be published book "Boy Scouts of America Today".  Also included in the book will be an additional 150 photos from famous Scouting photographer and a chapter devoted to photos from the 2010 National Jamboree.

As a winner, Dave receives a $50 Scout Stuff gift card and one free copy of the book in which his photo appears.

Lake Huron Area Council congratulates David Patterson on his award and appreciates all of his efforts on behalf of Scouting.
