Hunter Safety Training Weekend at Camp Rotary

Hunter Safety Training Weekend at Camp Rotary

Welcome to the Michigan Hunter Education Program. Since 1947, more than one million Michigan hunters have successfully completed this course.

Each year, more than 30,000 persons are taught basic hunting skills, safety techniques, responsible behavior, wildlife management and associated topics. They are directed and supported by Michigan Conservation Officers. Upon completion of this training, you will be confident that you can safely use firearms and bow and arrow in such a manner as to avoid injuring yourself or others, you will have a better understanding of wildlife management, and you will be on your way to becoming a safe and responsible member of our hunting community. Many states now require certified training if you wish to hunt in their state, either a certified bow or gun training certification, or both, to purchase a license.

This training weekend will be open on a first-come, first-served basis (course limit is 40); registration deadline is August 6. The cost for the bow education training is $35. The cost for the hunter safety training is $65. For both the bow and hunter education courses the cost will be $95.  The course fees include your food, lodging in our year-round cabins, and all course materials. All participants must complete a Hunter Safety Hold-Harmless Agreement to be submitted with the registration form. For more information, please contact Dr. Bruce Patterson at brucep@dishmail.net or 989-386-3328.
