in the future. It is being posted here for LHAC Scouts and Scouters first. The LHAC first-to-find prize is a certificate redeemable for $25 to be used toward any LHAC Event or camp lasting 3 or more days.
This cache was placed by Lake Huron Area Council in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. It is located on Camp Rotary property. The weathered signs state that it is Camp Rotary property and do not trespass, but you have permission to be in this part of camp for purposes of geocaching.
You must approach from the south (off Lincoln Road) unless you otherwise have permission to be in the main camp property. There is an area to park a few vehicles at the corner of the Camp Rotary property, near a gate and turn in the road. N43 56.270' W084 44.856' Lincoln road is not a well maintained road. Cars with low clearance may not be suited for driving down this road when there is a lot of snow.
"If you do not have a vehicle with high-clearance, you may wish to approach from S. Eberhart Avenue from the south. This road does not have large washed-out areas. You can get to S. Eberhart by taking Browns Road east from Old US27 (This intersection with Browns Road is about 1.9 miles SW of the parking coordinates.)"
The 1100 acre Camp Rotary property is used for weeklong scout summer camps, and well as for conferences and year-round camping. You will be exploring an undeveloped wooded area of camp that is home to lots of wildlife. The cache started off with Scouting-themed trade items. The cache contains green cards to be returned to the Lake Huron Area Council for a chance to win a limited-edition BSA 100th Anniversary geocoin in our monthly drawing. Be sure to write down the Keyword from the inside lid of the cache container and stay tuned for details on the full series of Treasures of Scouting geocaches by the Lake Huron Area Council
